How Was The Capsule Born?

In today's Chinese metropolises, high housing prices are like invisible barriers to young people's dreams of living. Our cities are becoming more and more "crowded", and in order to find a foothold in this "forest", young people are beginning to become more "picky".

They explored ways to save money on accommodation, and eventually, they set their sights on a small space known as a "space capsule."

The rise of the capsule and Japan's bubble economy
The space capsule, the name sounds like a scene from a science fiction novel, as if with a futuristic atmosphere, full of anticipation. In fact, however, this concept is not the first time it has emerged in China.

In fact, its origins date back to Japan, where the bubble economy peaked in the late 80s and early 90s, but in 1991, it burst, leaving many people without jobs and stable economic resources.

This sudden shock caused Japanese society to re-examine its lifestyle, and the concept of a new way of living, the "space capsule", was born.

Let's go back to Japan in the early 90s, a period of struggle after the bursting of the economic bubble, a large number of people lost their jobs and there was a shortage of funds.

During this period, the Japanese began to tighten their living expenses, and families began to pay more attention to saving so that they could make ends meet for a period of time. People are starting to manage their money more carefully to ensure that daily needs and necessities are met.

This period, while challenging for many, also made people realize what really matters in life, how to adapt and survive in a tight environment.

In this environment, the concept of a capsule was born. It stems from a sense of oppression of space and a sense of economic tension, as well as the need for space for personal life.

As a result, a new way of living began to emerge in Japan, which reduced space to a minimum, but provided a certain quality of life. This is what we call a "space capsule" today.

In Japan, the capsule was originally designed as an inexpensive short-term accommodation option, providing a simple sleeping space with a private place to rest. But over time, it has gradually integrated into the mainstream of Japanese society and become a new way of life.

The encounter between the concept of disengagement and the space capsule
The pursuit of a simple lifestyle such as the "space capsule" also coincides with the Japanese concept of "disconnection", so it has gradually become the choice of the Japanese.

The concept of "breaking away" did not come out of nowhere, but gradually formed in the lives of Japanese heroines.

There are few people in Japan, and the average Japanese woman lives in a relatively small space, they are very delicate in life, and the home is basically necessities, without a single sundrum, because too many things will make the home extremely cluttered.

This is also the spirit of the capsule, which makes us understand that life does not need too much space, as long as there is a comfortable enough sleeping space, it is enough.

However, this concept is not widely known in Europe and the United States, because Europe and the United States are sparsely populated, and their houses are relatively large, people do not have a sense of oppression, naturally do not need to give up!

Starting from the most common kind of house in Europe and the United States, they can be placed in the garage or basement without sundries, so the separation cannot be spread in Europe and the United States.

This is why the capsule was born in Japan and became widely popular in Japan.

Because Japan's space environment and Japanese way of life provide suitable soil for the birth of the capsule.

And when this way of life was brought to China, it was also accepted by the vast number of young people and became one of their lifestyles.
